Update: Police investigating death after human skull found in Myrtle Beach, SC area

A death investigation is ongoing after a human skull was found on the ground in the Myrtle Beach area, according to an Horry County Police report.

The skull was found near the former Indian Wells Golf Course in Garden City. The location is where a known homeless encampment exits, according to police. There is no risk to the community, police said.

Additional details were not available.

Horry County Police announced online that human remains were potentially found in the Myrtle Beach area on Tuesday, according to an Horry County Police Facebook post.
