Police name 23-year-old who died in Mississauga shooting

Peel police have identified the man shot and killed in Mississauga Saturday as 23-year-old Deshawn Brandon Nicholson.

Police found the Toronto man dead from a gunshot wound early Saturday morning.

Just before 4 a.m., police say they received a call about a disturbance at 327 Queen Street South. Several 9-1-1 callers said they heard possible gun shots.

They found Nicholson upon arriving and emergency services tried to revive him at the scene. He was not transported to hospital.

Police say there is no suspect information at this time.

They are looking for the public's help in the investigation, and say they'd like to speak to witnesses who were in the area Saturday who might have seen something.

3 shooting victims in Mississauga

Nicholson was one of three gunshot victims on Saturday morning.

About 45 minutes after the male victim was located, police were called to a gas station near Eglinton Avenue West and Creditview Road. They found a second gunshot victim in an SUV.

The man inside the vehicle was transported to hospital, where police say he remains with serious injuries.

Const. Harinder Sohi said police are "confident" that shooting did not take place at the gas station. They did not find any shell casings in the area, and employees at the station did not report hearing or seeing any shootings.

On Saturday, police said they found two victims at the gas station, however Const. Sohi clarified Sunday that there was only one man in the vehicle.

Around the same time, the third victim walked himself into a hospital in Peel with gunshot injuries.

Sohi said police are still trying to figure out whether the three shootings are related.
