Police release video of two suspects in Sansom Park homicide

Police in Sansom Park are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects in a homicide investigation, according to a news release from police.

The request from investigators comes less than a week after police asked residents to share security footage from around the 100 block of Skyline Drive, where they found 42-year-old Richard Applegate shot early Friday. Applegate was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police released two videos, each of which briefly shows someone in the frame. Police believe those two people to be connected to the homicide.

Applegate’s family members told KTVT-TV that he was shot after he confronted two young men who had threatened the family.

Police asked residents in the following areas to check their surveillance for images or footage of people walking or running around between 4:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Friday, June 21:

  • Skyline Drive

  • Crowley Street

  • Comanche Street

  • Cowden Street

  • Calloway Street

  • Joshua Court

  • Jalah Court

The video released appears to be from home security cameras, like a doorbell camera.
