Christopher Coleman, 34, critically injured in Christmas Eve incident

Christopher Coleman, the victim of an apparent hit and run southeast of Ottawa early on Christmas Eve, remains in critical condition in hospital, as his family urges witnesses to come forward with any information.

Around 4 a.m. on Dec. 24, police said, someone was passing by an area of County Road 22 east of Highway 138 and found Coleman with life-threatening injuries.

"We will look at any angle depending on the evidence that we're collecting," said OPP Const. Joel Doiron.

Police are still trying to determine how the 34-year-old was injured.

Family seeks closure

"We are currently focused on Chris's recovery," his parents said in a written statement, but the family also said they are hopeful someone will come forward and "provide closure."

Coleman is a resident of Moose Creek, Ont., about 11 kilometres southwest of Maxville, the Ontario community closest to where he was found.

Some Moose Creek residents said Coleman likely decided to walk home after spending the evening at a Maxville pub.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry detachment of the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
