Prince and Princess of Wales share new photos of George, Charlotte and Louis to celebrate Mother’s Day
The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared two previously unseen photographs of Kate Middleton and her three children to celebrate Mother’s Day today (19th March).
Taking to the couple’s official Instagram, the caption reads ‘Happy Mother’s Day from our family to yours,’ along with a heart emoji, with the first image showing Kate and Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7 and Prince Louis, 4, balanced in a tree on the grounds of Anmer Hall, their residence in Norfolk.
Kate is flanked by her two sons on each side, with Princess Charlotte perching on a separate branch.
The second image is even more relaxed and gives us a heartwarming insight into a special moment between mother and son, as Kate picks up Prince Louis, whose head is tipped back toward the camera.
Unlike many of the young royal family’s previous snaps, which are normally taken by Kate herself, these two were taken by photographer Matt Porteous, who has captured prior family events such as Prince Louis’ christening.
The family are dressed in casual clothes, with the weather looking exactly like a perfect spring day, even though these previously unreleased photos were taken on the same day as the family’s 2022 Christmas card photo.
This Mother’s Day also marks King Charles’ first without his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, with him paying tribute to her with an image of him as a young child with her.
‘To all mothers everywhere, and to those who may be missing their mums today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special #MothersDay,’ it is captioned.
While Camilla, the Queen Consort, remembered her late mother, Rosalind Shand, in the same Instagram post, shared to their official account.
