Prince William is used to fielding tough questions — even from an inquisitive 11-year-old boy!

The Prince of Wales, 41, was put on the spot during a visit to the Hideaway Youth Project in Manchester on Thursday when Amir Hassan asked the future king: "How much do you have in your bank account?" according to The Telegraph.

Prince William laughed at the question before replying that he "didn't know."

After King Charles acceded to the throne, Prince William inherited the Duchy of Cornwall — an estate of farmland, property and commercial businesses worth around $1.3 billion.

The Duchy was established by King Edward III in 1337 to provide an income for the heir to the throne. King Charles used it also to pay for the life and public work of the heir to the throne and his family.

A royal source told PEOPLE last year, shortly after he became the Prince of Wales, that Prince William is "going to very much take an active role in it. He is fully immersing himself in it."

It previously emerged that Prince William, who counts homelessness as one of the key causes in his royal work, was exploring how homes in the Duchy could be used to help those in need.

In 2019, Prince William said he would follow in his father's footsteps when it came to the Duchy of Cornwall.

"I've started to think about how I will inherit the Duchy one day," William told farmers in Prince Charles: Inside The Duchy of Cornwall. "Well, rest assured I'm not going to rock the boat; I'll do much the same as what my father's doing. I'm not so into the architecture — that's the only thing."

Prince William's visit to Manchester on Thursday also fulfilled a promise that he made at a Buckingham Palace garden party earlier this year, where Wendy Simms, invited him to Moss Side, where she runs a local food bank.

"It's been a while Wendy — I told you I'd come and see you,” Prince William told Wendy as they reunited.
