Prince William crowned 'world's sexiest bald man' and Stanley Tucci fans aren't having it

It's a battle of the bald on Twitter.

The Duke of Cambridge has apparently been crowned the world's sexiest bald man but social media users say actor Stanley Tucci would like a word.

According to a report from The Sun, Prince William has been called "sexy" 17.6 million times in various blogs, articles and web pages. This number is higher than any of his other famous brothers in baldness, landing him the title of "world's sexiest bald man."

Cosmetic surgery group Longevita conducted the study using Google data to reach its conclusion that the member of the royal family took the sexy bald crown, The Sun reported.

Once social media got word of the prince's new rank, many were in disagreement.

"Stanley Tucci I will avenge you," wrote one user with more than 7,000 other users co-signing with a retweet.

"Look, regardless of your opinion of the royal family, I think we can ALL agree that this is Stanley Tucci erasure and it shall not stand," wrote another user.

Tucci weighed in, posting a collage on Instagram with himself next to bald celebrities like Bruce Willis, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and even actress Tilda Swinton as her bald character The Ancient One from "Doctor Strange."

"Whose crown should wear this crown? So many wonderful choices," Tucci wrote.

While the "Supernova" actor wasn't in the running, other contenders in the study included boxer Mike Tyson pulling in 8.8 million sexy internet adjectives and "Fast and Furious" actor Jason Statham, who was described as sexy 7.4 million times.

Twitter users also advocated for Statham.

"Jason Statham didn't flip a car upside down so he could attach a bomb to a crane in transporter 2 just to be disrespected like this," @TechnicallyRon wrote.

Other names tossed around in protest included actor Shemar Moore and rapper Pitbull.

"Prince William is no way the sexiest bald man when @shemarmoore is alive and well #next," a user tweeted.

"Mr Worldwide doesn't deserve this slander," @yasminesummanx wrote.

USA TODAY reached out to Tucci and Longevita for a statement.

The "Devil Wears Prada" actor hosts food travel show "Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy," on CNN. In the show, he travels region to region tasting the food of the country.

Tucci can also be found on Instagram whipping up some of his favorite cocktails. When asked about his bartending skills, he told USA TODAY: "I love making cocktails. I think it's really fun. It's not a lost art – it's an art that's really coming into its own now, and I think that's great. I like that bit of elegance in life."
