Prince William and Kate enjoy dinner and drinks at a local pub
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took some time for themselves to enjoy a low-key date night at one of their local haunts. The royal couple left their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte at home and ducked out to a pub just 15 minutes from their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, to enjoy a relaxing dinner.
Prince William and Kate visited the Crown Inn in East Rudham, where a regular said they enjoyed a drink at the bar before heading to a table for a meal.
William and Kate reportedly enjoyed a low-key date at a local pub.
"They were very low-key and it seemed quite a last-minute thing," a source told The Sun. "Maybe it was a rare night out since Charlotte was born."
The royals were both said to be dressed down for their evening out, with Kate wearing skinny jeans and a navy sweater.
"They both looked a little tired but seemed to have a lovely time and left at about 10:30 p.m.," the source said, adding that while William made the most of his time off from working with the East Anglian Air Ambulance with a glass of wine, Kate appeared to opt for sparkling water.
The royal couple left their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte at home.
The regular continued, "They were leaning in to one another chatting away, laughing and joking. It's nice for them to have a normal night out like any other parents of young children."
William and Kate no doubt enjoyed some quality time together after a busy start to the new year. The couple missed their traditional getaway to Mustique with the Middletons to focus on their young family, as well as William's shift work for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Meanwhile, Prince George has recently started attending the Westacre Montessori School in East Walton and is said to be settling into his new surroundings very well, so they will not have wanted to disrupt his routine.
The Duke and Duchess have a busy few months ahead as they are set to embark on a tour to India together – their first official overseas tour since their three-day stay in New York City in December 2014 – and they will also be at the forefront of a series of celebrations in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday.
