Princess Alexandra Has the Ultimate Royal Rewear in Mom Princess Caroline's Chanel Dress from 34 Years Ago
Princess Alexandra brought along a modern accessory to the Chanel Haute Couture show
Princess Alexandra of Hanover is making a style statement with a look straight from her mom’s royal closet.
On Tuesday, Princess Alexandra, 24, stepped out in Paris to attend the Chanel Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2024 show during Paris Fashion Week. She sported a little black dress that may look familiar, as it was previously worn by her mom, Princess Caroline of Monaco.
Fan blog Royal Fashion Police identified the frock with white collar, white trim and military-style buttons as from the Chanel Fall/Winter 1990 Couture show. Princess Caroline, now 67, wore the dress in 1990 and 1993...before Princess Alexandra was even born in 1999!
Princess Caroline put different spins on the outfit, styling it both with and without a coordinating black and white hat.

Princess Alexandra followed in her mother’s fashion footsteps by wearing the LBD with semi-sheer tights and black heels. She completed the look with two must-have accessories: her iPhone and a classic black quilted Chanel bag on a chain.

The outing marked Princess Alexandra's second show at Paris Fashion Week this year.
On Monday, she attended the Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2024 in a long orange dress with keyhole detail and black heels by the brand, Royal Fashion Police said. The royal seems to have a passion for fashion and has been spotted at Paris Fashion Week shows since she was a teenager.
Princess Alexandra of Hanover is the daughter and only child of Princess Caroline of Monaco and her husband Prince Ernst-August of Hanover. She is currently 13th in line for the Monegasque throne and her title comes from her father’s side. Prince Ernst-August of Hanover, 69, is a descendant of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland. Alexandra was also in the line of succession to the British throne until she was confirmed into the Catholic Church in 2018.
In an interesting twist, Princess Alexandra is the only one of Princess Caroline’s four children who has a royal title. Princess Caroline, who is the eldest daughter of the late Prince Rainier and Princess Grace (née Kelly, the American actress and Oscar winner who became royalty through her marriage), welcomed three children during her second marriage to Italian businessman Stefano Casiraghi — Andrea, 39, Charlotte, 37, and Pierre, 36.
Princess Alexandra follows her mother, elder siblings and their young children in the Monegasque line of succession. Her uncle, Prince Albert, is the sovereign of Monaco.
Princess Alexandra is a frequent fixture at the royal family’s official events and recently stepped out for Monaco National Day in November 2023. The royal made an appearance with her mom and all three of her siblings for the daytime celebrations and stepped out again the same day for a gala at the Grimaldi Forum.
