RCMP investigating after man shot in Chipman

Long guns, Volkswagen stolen from business in Marystown

RCMP are investigating after a man was shot in the village of Chipman, about 60 kilometres east of Edmonton.

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP say the man was shot while standing outside of a house on 48th Avenue.

RCMP are still in the early stages of the investigation but say the shooting "does not appear to be a random act."

Police say the man suffered serious injuries. He was taken to an Edmonton hospital where he is now in stable condition.

RCMP are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
