Ready, set ... FISH!

Several dozen boats troll for salmon under overcast skies Friday morning on the Columbia River near the confluence with the Yakima River on opening day of the Hanford Reach fishery.

The river from the Highway 395 blue bridge to Columbia Point, just downstream of the I-182 twin bridges, has a daily limit of 6 salmon including just 1 adult, according to emergency regulations from the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife.

The Hanford Reach salmon fishery season runs through Oct. 31.
