Ready to vote in the Aug. 1 primary in Wichita? Here’s how to find your polling place

If you’re planning to vote on Election Day Tuesday in Kansas, it may be time to brush up on your assigned polling place.

This week, Wichita voters will narrow a poll of nine mayoral candidates to two for November’s General Election. Also on the ballot are four candidates for the City Council District 4 seat and five candidates running for the at-large seat on Wichita Board of Education.

Don’t forget to take your photo ID with you when you go vote.

How do I find my polling place in Kansas?

Unlike early voting satellite sites, those voting Aug. 1 have to go to their assigned polling place. Thankfully, the Kansas Secretary of State makes it easy to find your voting location.

To find the address of your polling place, go to the Kansas Secretary of State’s registration information page and enter your date of birth and first and last name. Once you hit “look up,” your voter registration and sample ballot appear, along with your polling place location.

Polling sites will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday in Sedgwick County, and all those in line by 7 p.m. will be able to cast a ballot.

If you previously checked your polling location, be sure to check again as roughly 4,000 Wichita voters were recently notified of a polling place change. Those who usually vote at Cedar Point Church will now vote at Southeast High School due to communication issues between the election office and the church.
