Reba McEntire Celebrates Special Anniversary with Boyfriend Rex Linn: '5 Years of Tater Tots'

On Thursday, Jan. 23, McEntire, 69, celebrated the five-year anniversary of her relationship with boyfriend and Happy's Place costar Linn, 68, with a post on Instagram.
The "I'm a Survivor" singer shared a recreated version of the first photo Linn shared of the pair together on Instagram when they began dating in 2020, alongside the original.
In the caption, the Grammy winner referenced the special role tater tots have played in her relationship.
"Celebrating five years of tater tots this week! ❤️ #thetots #anniversary," McEntire captioned a cuddly photo of her and Linn sitting together at a table.
McEntire and Linn's famous friends shared their congratulations in the comments, with their Young Sheldon costar Annie Potts writing, "Happy Anniversary! Yall are perfect for each other ❤️❤️." Meanwhile, Reba alum JoAnna Garcia Swisher added, "Tater tots for life! 💕," while Gwen Stefani commented with four red heart emojis.
During a March 2023 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, McEntire explained she and Linn bonded over tater tots when they reconnected in 2020 after first meeting on the set of the Kenny Rogers' film The Gambler in 1991. The country singer revealed that her eagerness to order tots at a wine bar earned her a nickname that quickly stuck.
"Rex said, 'That's your nickname from here on out — Tater Tot,' " she told host Jennifer Hudson at the time. She added that she calls Linn by the nickname "Sugar Tot."

Five years into their relationship, McEntire and Linn are now playing co-workers on the set of NBC's Happy's Place. While the two keep things professional, the CSI: Miami alum told PEOPLE in October that they occasionally sneak in a little bit of PDA on set.
"We're running lines constantly," Linn said. "But every once in a while, I'll sneak by for a quick kiss, just a peck on the cheek and keep on moving. It's fun."
