Regina Pokemon Go event attracts a crowd

A second Pokemon Go event in Regina Sunday attracted people to a variety of businesses, making shop owners fans of the game.

The event, dubbed a Lure-a-Palooza, has game players hoping to capture Pokemon as they mill about the Cathedral area. Many businesses along 13th Avenue were part of the game.

Jessica Mauss, at the Dessart Sweets ice cream shop, said the game has really caught on.

"Every day we see people coming in with their kids and they have their phone and obviously catching Pokemons and it happens every day," she said. "It makes the street alive."

Players enjoy getting out and sharing their enthusiasm for the game.

Brian Gammon said his girlfriend turned him into a Pokemon player.

"I thought it was all for nerd and geeks, pardon the term, and once I got playing it since August 2nd I 've walked over 100 kilometres already," he said.
