Resident suffers burn injuries in SLO County mobile home fire

A mobile home fire in San Luis Obispo County sent a resident to the hospital with burn injuries on Sunday afternoon, according to a news release from the Five Cities Fire Authority.

The fire started at about 3:20 p.m. in a mobile home on Cienaga Street in Oceano.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, the found the fire burning at the rear of the mobile home. The residents had already evacuated from the structure.

“The fire appears to have started on the exterior of the home,” the release said. “Suppression efforts were able to keep the fire from moving into the interior of the structure.”

The fire damaged one room and the exterior of the mobile home, the release said.

One resident was burned by the fire and sent to the hospital for treatment, before being later released.

Two residents were displaced by the fire and received assistance from the American Red Cross.

“The house was secured and turned over to the property owner. The cause of the fire is under investigation,” the release said.

Three units from the Five Cities Fire Authority and three from Cal Fire responded to the blaze.
