Riches Cancelled at Prime Video, Creator Says ‘I Still Had Many More Stories to Tell’

Prime Video is fresh out of Riches.

The British drama will not return for Season 2 at the streaming video service, TVLine has confirmed. Creator Abby Ajayi announced that the show wouldn’t be coming back in a social media post Friday.

“This time last year we launched,” Ajayi wrote in an Instagram post. “Much love to this incredible ensemble of actors and our fabulous screw. Thank you to everyone who supported.”

She added: “So proud we got to make this show. I still had many more stories to tell… And, it was gonna be 🔥 🔥 🔥.”

Riches‘ six-episode first (and now only) season premiered on Prime Video in December 2022. The drama followed the ultra wealthy Richards family in the wake of its patriarch’s sudden death and his various children’s fight for control of his business. The cast included stars Deborah Ayorinde (Truth Be Told), Hugh Quarshie (Absentia), Sarah Niles (Ted LassoI May Destroy You), Adeyinka Akinrinade (A Discovery of Witches), Ola Orebiyi (Cherry), Nneka Okoye (Halo), and Emmanuel Imani (The Wheel of Time).
