Robert De Niro narrates scathing Joe Biden campaign ad attacking Donald Trump: 'Trump wants revenge'

The ad premiered after the beloved actor voiced a profanity-filled criticism of Trump on "The View."

After years of regularly criticizing Donald Trump on his own time, Robert De Niro has lent his iconic voice to one of Joe Biden's official presidential campaign commercials attacking the credibility of the Republican candidate currently involved in an ongoing trial resulting from an alleged hush-money scandal.

The new commercial, endorsed by the Biden-Kamala Harris campaign, begins with the 80-year-old Oscar-winning actor accusing, "From midnight tweets to drinking bleach, to tear-gassing citizens and staging a photo op, we knew Trump was out of control when he was president."

The ad continues: "Then, he lost the 2020 election and snapped."

De Niro — who doesn't physically appear on-camera in the ad — continues, alleging that Trump's actions following his 2020 election loss is him "desperately trying to hold on to power," before warning Americans that Trump is "threatening to be a dictator" and "to terminate the constitution."

"Trump wants revenge," De Niro supposes near the end of the ad. "He'll stop at nothing to get it."

Biden's voice then closes out the commercial, stating, "I'm Joe Biden, and I approved this message."

“We will make sure that the voters who will decide this election are reminded of the chaos and harm Trump caused as president — and why they booted him out four years ago,” said Biden's campaign chair, Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, in a memo accompanying the ad, per the New York Times.

Following the debut of the commercial, De Niro spoke on Tuesday morning outside a Manhattan court room, ahead of closing arguments in Trump's trial.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to Trump's team for comment.

De Niro's involvement in the ad, which began airing across the country on May 24, comes weeks after the Raging Bull and Taxi Driver star was censored for using profanity during a criticism of Trump on The View.

"It's almost like he wants to do the worst that he could possibly do to show this country..." De Niro said, before the show cut the actor's audio as he spoke. It briefly returned, with De Niro clearly stating what he felt Trump's "slogan should be" before his audio dropped a second time. He seemingly followed up his initial statement with, "f--- America" and "I want to f--- America."

A representative for De Niro later confirmed to EW that the actor was censored as "he said 'f---' a few times" on the live broadcast.
