Catherine O’Hara is lacing up her apocalypse boots!

The Schitt’s Creek Emmy winner has officially signed on for season 2 of HBO’s hit drama The Last of Us. On Friday, HBO confirmed to PEOPLE that O’Hara, 69, will have an “undisclosed role” in the second season. As of now, there’s no word if that will be as a survivalist, or as an infected.

Confirmation from HBO comes just a day after O’Hara teased the possibility she’d appear on season 2. While appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, a fan asked O’Hara if the rumors she’d been discussing a role on the show were true.

“How do you know these things?” O’Hara said, before confirming, “It’s in discussion — yeah.”

O’Hara also joked, “Wait, what? Do you work on the show? And you’re about to quit and you just want to give everything away?”

It seems a personal connection may have sparked O’Hara’s interest in joining the apocalyptic thriller. “My son’s a set dresser on the show,” she shared.

The Last of Us season 1 premiered on HBO in 2023. Inspired by the video games of the same name, the series followed a post-apocalyptic world after the cordyceps fungus spread and caused a zombie infestation globally.

The first season followed rugged loner Joel (Pedro Pascal) promise to bring wise-beyond-her-years teen Ellie (Bella Ramsey) to a scientific lab on the other side of the country, with the unlikely duo trekking through danger to figure out if Ellie’s seeming immunity could cure the world of a zombie-like scourge.

Season 2 sees more new additions, including Dopesick's Kaitlyn Dever and Beef star Young Mazino.
