The security guard's injuries are not considered to be life-threatening, paramedics say.

A man identified as a security guard for Drake has been hospitalized with serious injuries following a shooting outside of the rapper’s Toronto home.

Police initially revealed on X that the incident took place on Park Lane Circle in the Bridle Path neighborhood at 2:09 a.m. on Tuesday morning. They later confirmed the location to be Drake’s 50,000-square-foot mansion in the North York area.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the residence and arrived to find a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, said Inspector Paul Krawczyk, a member of the gun and gang task force, during a Tuesday morning news conference at the scene. The victim has since been transported to the hospital, where he remains, receiving treatment for serious injuries.

The suspect fled in a vehicle and remain at large; police were not able to provide a description. Authorities were also unable to confirm whether or not Drake was home at the time of the incident.

Representatives for Drake declined to comment.

Paramedics confirmed to reporters at Canadian publication CBC that Drake was not the victim, adding that the security guard's injuries are not considered life-threatening. The rapper's Toronto mansion is now at the center of an ongoing police investigation. Local outlets have reported that the streets leading to the residence are taped off, and patrol cars were seen parked in the area on Tuesday morning.

The Canadian rapper has recently been in the news for his escalating, high-profile, weekslong rap feud with L.A.-based rapper, Kendrick Lamar. The duo have exchanged several diss tracks that include barbs about one-another’s families and personal lives. Lamar has released three songs criticizing Drake and namedropping members of his family. One of the tracks, “Not Like Us,” featured an aerial photo of Drake’s Toronto residence as the artwork.

The latest response, “The Heart Pt.6,” was released by Drake on May 5.
