See ‘jetliner’ views of Los Angeles skyline, California coast from $38.5 million estate

A hilltop Los Angeles mansion listed for $38.5 million with “jetliner views” of the city’s skyline and the California coast will be sold to the highest bidder in an auction.

“Sited on over 5.5 acres with jetliner views, this one-of-a-kind estate is unparalleled in this price category. Surrounded by $100 million-plus estates, the location is exceptional,” according to the auction listing.

Called The Bel Air Promontory, the mansion at 1250 Bel Air Road spreads across 14,000 square feet with six ensuite bedrooms and eight full bathrooms.

Concierge Auctions is handling the no-reserve auction in cooperation with listing agent Drew Fenton of Carolwood Estates. The auction opens Sept. 8, 2023.

The gated property features a museum-quality garage and entertaining spaces with walls of glass that automatically open out to terraces with panoramic views. Below the home and down a set of stairs awaits a long pool and lounging area that extends over the hillside.

The newly renovated residence has a 15-foot screening wall, 320-bottle wine cellar, gym and sauna and state-of-the-art technology throughout.

“Jaw-dropping estates and their A-list owners fill this neighborhood in the foothills of the Santa Monica mountains,” the listing states. “California’s coast and the Los Angeles skyline paint a panorama, and these idyllic views are unobstructed from the property.”
