PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at Lifetime's new holiday movie, which also features Linda Gray, Morgan Fairchild and Nicollette Sheridan
Finding love can be as easy as smiling at a handsome stranger in line for coffee, but every now and then, making a romantic connection requires more serious intervention. And maybe also a little holiday cheer.
In Lifetime's upcoming original holiday movie Ladies of the ‘80s: A Divas Christmas — part of the network's annual "It's a Wonderful Lifetime" seasonal programming slate — that intervention comes in the form of five soap opera stars who come together for a reunion decide to play cupid. The daytime drama queens, played by WKRP in Cincinnati's Loni Anderson, Falcon Crest's Morgan Fairchild, Dallas's Linda Gray, and Knots Landing's Donna Mills and Nicollette Sheridan, share the spotlight to film the final Christmas episode of their soap opera.
But getting them together almost derails the entire production when old rivalries reemerge and tempers flare.
When the five actresses realize the Christmas special is on the verge of cancellation because of their antics, they agree to keep the peace for the sake of the show. Better yet, when they realize there's still chemistry between the show's producer Alex (Travis Burns) and director Nell (Taylor Ann Thompson), the ladies join forces, making it their mission to get the two together.
"The opportunity to bring together Donna, Morgan, Loni, Linda and Nicollette — five powerhouse women into one holiday movie — has been like finding the perfect gift under the Christmas tree," executive producer Larry A. Thompson said in a statement.
Ladies of the ‘80s: A Divas Christmas also stars Christopher Atkins, Patrika Darbo, Alec Mapa and Mills's daughter, Chloe Mills.
The film also features a theme song performed by '80s pop star Tiffany.
