Selena Gomez Revealed a Rare -Inspired Neck Tattoo

Selena Gomez has added to her growing ink collection. Nearly a week after the release of her latest album, Rare, the singer is celebrating the milestone with a tattoo inspired by the album.

Really early on January 16, the pop star debuted the new ink on Instagram, writing, "Did it again @bangbangnyc 🦋rare." In the photo, Selena reveals a simple neck tattoo featuring the album's title. Sel chose to place the meaningful memento on her neck, right under her right ear. An accompanying video on the post also shows Selena admiring the freshly completed ink in a mirror.

The album tribute joins her other tattoos, including a previously hidden tattoo on her upper arm that commemorated the date of her kidney transplant and a large thigh tattoo, which she debuted back in November.

Fans will have to wait, and watch her Instagram, to see if Selena ends up getting any more Rare-inspired tattoos. It's likely she could take a page from Ariana Grande or Justin Bieber and memorialize individual single titles.

Given the health and personal struggles that Selena went through prior to the release of Rare, it makes sense why she chose to get a permanent tribute to the work. In addition to undergoing life-saving kidney transplant surgery, the singer has also further discussed her ongoing struggle with mental health issues. She has remained open about taking proper care of herself, recently telling the Wall Street Journal that mental health medication "completely changed my life."

It's encouraging to see Selena return to the public eye. We're happy to see she's basking in the glow of her latest album release and this tattoo will be a reminder of those good times for life!
