Severe thunderstorm watch issued for central Manitoba
Central Manitoba is under a severe thunderstorm watch with conditions favourable for the development of storms that could produce strong winds, large hail and heavy rain.
"We have a really strong severe storm setup in place this afternoon in the Interlake and around the shores of the south basins of Lake Manitoba and Lake Winnipeg. As the front swings through this afternoon, it will start to pop some isolated storms — some of which could become severe," said CBC meteorologist John Sauder.
"These storms will slowly drift to the southeast through the late afternoon and early evening, so the watches and warnings will change as the afternoon progresses."
