Shaquille O'Neal takes shot at Dwight Howard for speech after Lakers win: 'Sit your ass down'

Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal wasn’t a big fan of Dwight Howard’s antics following the Lakers’ championship. Howard went on Instagram Live after the victory, where he delivered an emotional speech about never giving up on your dreams.

That didn’t sit well with O’Neal, who trashed Howard for being a “frontrunner” and a “bandwagon jumper.” Those insults were fairly tame compared to some of the other things O’Neal said. He also told Howard to “sit your ass down” and said Howard did “nothing” during the NBA Finals.

O’Neal made those comments on “The Big Podcast with Shaq.” O’Neal was careful not to mention Howard by name, but it became obvious when O’Neal mockingly said “follow your dreams,” which is exactly what Howard said in his Instagram Live video.

Shaq has been critical of Dwight Howard in the past

O’Neal has been critical of Howard on numerous occasions the past couple years. O’Neal has questioned Howard’s “attitude,” got mad at others calling Howard “Superman,” and expressed disappointment over Howard never realizing his full potential on “Inside the NBA.” O’Neal also laughed at the Atlanta Hawks for giving Howard a tribute video.

Howard hasn’t taken the criticism quietly. He’s told O’Neal to move on more than once.

In the past, O’Neal has responded to those taunts by telling Howard to win a ring. Howard did just that with the Lakers, but it doesn’t appear O’Neal is going to let up with his criticism any time soon.
