Sheriff’s office releases identity of teen killed in Monroe County crash

A teenager who died in a utility task vehicle crash in Monroe County has been identified, the sheriff’s department said Friday.

David F. Browning, 17, of St. Louis died in the crash on Tuesday, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.

Browning and another person were ejected from the vehicle.

The crash occurred at about 5:51 p.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of Trout Camp Road near Waterloo.

Browning was brought to a local hospital, where he died, the news release stated. The other victim, whose name was not released, was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital.

The cause of the crash was not announced.

The Trout Camp Road crash remains under investigation and no additional information was released.

Illinois State Police is investigating another crash that also occurred on Tuesday evening in Monroe County. Two women were injured in that single-vehicle crash on Bluff Road at Hanover Road.
