Sherwood Park RCMP renew call for witnesses in Paula Stiles homicide

One year after Paula Stiles was found dead in her Sherwood Park home, RCMP have made no arrests and are once again asking for anyone with information to come forward.

The 44-year-old mother of three was found dead in her Foxhaven Court home on April 15, 2015. Following an autopsy, her death was ruled a homicide.

Police have since been working to find out who killed her, sifting through videos and photos taken in that area around the time of her death, and devoting "considerable resources" to the case, Supt. Gary Peck said.

"Whoever is responsible for Paula Stiles' death is still out there," Peck said. "We know the members of the public, someone, has information which will assist us in identifying the person or persons responsible for the killing of Paula Stiles."

After her death, a family friend described Stiles as a smart and creative woman who was very devoted to her daughters.

"Paula Stiles was the most generous person I have ever met," Edmonton author Todd Babiak said in a statement after her death. "You felt it immediately when you met her: She was focused on what mattered in life."

Stiles was dating Babiak's brother Kirk at the time of her death. The two began dating after her marriage ended, and were planning on moving in together.

Her death left police with more questions than answers.

"We're looking at all possibilities," Peck said. "It's only natural that the community has questions that they want answered, and we're attempting to answer those questions through our investigation.

"We're making every possible attempt we can to move this case forward."
