There are a few essentials that everyone needs and, tech-lover or not, a Bluetooth speaker is one of them. While there are several options on the market from the likes of Bose and JBL that boast premium sound, these speakers also often come paired with hefty price tags.

Today, affordable Bluetooth speakers with top-notch sound quality are more widely available and this option from Tribit offers the perfect balance in size and power.

Winning the award for Cnet’s choice of “the best budget micro-speaker” of 2020, the Tribit StormBox boasts what is described as “size-defying sound” that’s both “loud and powerful.”

One unexpected feature this palm-sized speaker boasts is its weighty bass thanks to its built-in XBass tuning DSP technology.

Other highly praised features of this Tribit speaker are its 100 percent waterproof framework, its unparalleled dust protection, its fabric-covered exterior and its silicone strap. This last component particularly adds to its flare as it makes the device perfectly suited for outdoor activities like running, rock climbing, cycling or hiking. Simply attach the tear-resistant strap to handlebars or a backpack and it won’t budge.

Currently, the Tribit StormBox Micro Bluetooth speaker has an overall customer rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars on Amazon. It’s such a popular item that shoppers say it’s “better than Bose” and “sounds bigger than it looks.”

“I don’t write reviews, but when something shows incredible value and would help others, I try to take the time to do so,” one five-star reviewer wrote. “This is a great speaker. An upgrade to the Bose micro in my opinion.”

Going on to compare the specificities of why the Tribit StormBox Micro trumps the Bose Micro, the same reviewer outlined that the StormBox “sounds clear and robust, and if you didn’t tell me, I’d think this was the Bose speaker.”

The only con shoppers seemed to express for this product is that the battery life only lasts eight hours on one full charge. However, one of the shoppers who expressed this minor gripe went on to stress that this is “hands down the best mini portable speaker out there,” after dubbing it the “Bose Soundlink Micro killer.”
