Sick husband suspected wife was poisoning him — so he recorded her, CA cops say

After a man fell ill over the course of a month, he began growing suspicious of his wife of 10 years and started recording, officials said.

The husband “captured video evidence supporting his suspicion and turned it over to police” on Thursday, Aug. 4, according to a news release from the Irvine Police Department.

Detectives interviewed the wife just after 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, the department said, and served a search warrant for the home the couple shares.

Yue Yu was arrested and “booked at Orange County Jail,” Irvine police said.

She was arrested under Penal Code section 347 (a)(1), police told McClatchy News.

The 45-year-old Yu, a physician, is being held on $30,000 bail and is expected to appear in court on Monday, Aug. 8, jail records show.

The husband is expected to recover, despite “ significant internal injuries,” police said.
