Silver Alert deactivated by CHP after missing Sacramento County woman is located

The California Highway Patrol deactivated a Silver Alert issued Wednesday for an elderly Galt woman who had been missing for three weeks, saying she had been located.

CHP officials activated the alert midday Wednesday on behalf of the Galt Police Department for a resident who had not been seen since late December. The CHP said the woman was located and the alert deactivated, according to an update posted to social media just after 7 p.m.

A Silver Alert is implemented when an elderly, developmentally or cognitively-impaired person goes missing and is at-risk, according to the CHP.
