Simon Cowell falls in love with the 'perfect contest' on 'AGT'
On America's Got Talent Tuesday night, hard-to-impress Simon Cowell finally found the "perfect contestant."
The act consisted of two men representing a new company called MetaPhysic Media, which uses artificial intelligence to create hyperreal content, and opera singer Daniel Emmet, a veteran contestant who had appeared on Season 13 of AGT and even made it to the top 10.
"When they asked me to be a part of this wonderful, unique, original thing they're going to do, I couldn't say no," he explained. Daniel proceeded to belt out an earnest rendition of Chicago’s syrupy love ballad "You’re the Inspiration" – but now his voice was booming from the creepy robot mouth of the white-shirted, MetaPhysical Simon on the giant screen behind him.
Simon's reaction to watching his AI self on the big screen was amazing and, by the end of the performance, he was in love.
"Is it inappropriate to fall in love with a contestant? I know it's strange but I love you Daniel," proclaimed Simon.
Fellow judge Heidi Klum also loved it, as she declared it "the best thing" she saw all day, while Sofia Vergara gave some positive feedback with a side of hilarious shade.
Sofia shared, "I cannot even imagine the amount of work to be able to create something so perfect, because if I was not paying attention and I see this, to me, I think it's Simon, 20 years ago, singing!"
So, of course, in the end, the judges gave Simon, I mean – Daniel and his buddies – four yeses.

Meanwhile, Simon himself took to Twitter sharing, "This is one of the funniest and worst auditions I've ever seen on AGT." And of course, in the end, the judges gave Simon, I mean, Daniel and his buddies four yeses.
SIMON COWELL: I've always said is there such a thing as a perfect contestant, a great singer who looks incredible. We just found him.
