Through this partnership, we aim to bring together each other’s passion and expertise in storytelling to create quality Chinese shows and hopefully, unearth the next big star in Asia.”
Meanwhile, the three winners of MediaCorp and the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) In the Name of Love regional writing competition, who each won a S$10,000 ($7,400) development grant, will work with MediaCorp to further develop their scripts, it was revealed at the ATF.
The competition invited scriptwriters to submit their original concepts for a Chinese drama series about life and the various facets of love, including but not limited to romantic love. Of the 178 entries received, the three winners were “My Ghost, My Love,” which depicts an author’s romantic encounter with a ghost; “Lives at Stake,” which follows a young delinquent’s struggles with life and death as an emergency medical technician; and “Tune Into You,” a story about a theater artist who is unexpectedly saved from the brink of suicide by love ballads.
MediaCorp will announce which of the three scripts it intends to select for production in due course.
