South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso, Te-Hina Paopao pick up AP All-American honors

South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso and Te-Hina Paopao earned All-American honors Wednesday by The Associated Press.

The 6-foot-7 Cardoso was selected to the second team for the first time in her career. Paopao earned an honorable mention from The AP.

Cardoso heads into the NCAA Tournament averaging a team-high 14 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. In the final second of the SEC Tournament semifinal game, Cardoso banked in her first career 3-pointer to lift USC over Tennessee and advance to the title game.

South Carolina’s March Madness for 2024 journey begins Friday versus the winner of Presbyterian and Sacred Heart at 2 p.m. in Colonial Life Arena. Cardoso will miss the first-round game and return for the second round Sunday as she serves a suspension for fighting in the SEC Championship game against LSU on March 10.
