South Carolina opens as double-digit betting favorite for first time this season

Gamecocks vs. Gamecocks week has arrived. Or should it just be dubbed the Gamecocks squared game?

Regardless, South Carolina is back home for the remainder of the season, and gets to begin a four-game homestand with the only other matching mascot in the country.

South Carolina is 15.5 favorite in its first home game since Oct. 14, hosting newly instated FBS program Jacksonville State for the first time, according to Draft Kings. It’s the third time this season USC has been a favorite. (There wasn’t a betting line against Furman, an FCS team, in Week 2.)

Kickoff is scheduled for noon Saturday on ESPNU.

USC dropped to 2-6 (1-5 SEC) after a 30-17 loss at Texas A&M, which left them 0-4 on the road this season. Meanwhile, Jacksonville State improved to 7-2 (5-1 CUSA) with its 41-16 win over Florida International.

The USC Gamecocks are 3-4 against the spread, while the Jax State Gamecocks are 6-2-1 against the spread.
