Spanish and Dutch kings visit Wales for daughters' graduation ceremony

Some royal visitors spent the weekend in Wales - but they weren't who you might expect.

King Willem-Alexander from the Netherlands and Spanish monarch King Felipe VI attended a graduation ceremony at UWC Atlantic College in the Vale of Glamorgan.

King Felipe's daughter and heir to the throne Princess Leonor had been studying the international baccalaureate at the college in Llantwit Major.

Princess Alexia, King Willem-Alexander's second eldest daughter, was also studying at the college and attended the special leavers' ceremony.

The ceremony marks the end of two years living and studying on the South Wales coast.

As the presumed future Queen of Spain crossed the stage to collect her certificate, her tutor paid tribute to Princess Leonor.

"Your love of meaningful conversations knows no bounds," the tutor said.

"Your unwavering passion for learning, understanding people, and exploring diverse perspectives has truly enriched your UWC experience. We will miss your sense of humour."
