Police have arrested two suspects after a man was attacked and taken to hospital with "slash wounds".

Two men, aged 27 and 25, were arrested following reports someone had been attacked by a group in St Ann's, Nottingham, on Tuesday night.

A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries the force said were "not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering" after police were called to Devon Street at about 11:30 BST.

The police investigation is ongoing.

The two men were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Det Sgt Chris Mavers, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "While we strongly believe this to be an isolated incident, we will be providing an increased police presence in the area to provide the public with some reassurance."
