Here is Stanislaus District fans’ pick as The Bee’s Girls Prep of the Week

Kharime Caratachea put the Ripon High softball team on her back in the final full week of the regular season.

The junior William Penn University commit pitched in each of the team’s three games, throwing two shutouts, striking out 29 total batters and going 3-0 on the week. At the plate, she collected four hits, a double and an RBI.

In the final game of the week, she pitched a shutout with 12 strikeouts and had a hit against Hughson to help Ripon secure its eighth TVL win of the season. The fans noticed, voting her The Bee’s Girls Player of the Week.

Caratachea finished first after collecting 34% of the votes in the weekly poll. She came in ahead of softball players Chelsee Toon (Beyer) and Bailey Peterson (Oakdale), who finished second and third.
