Strictly Come Dancing star Shirley Ballas has revealed she’s on bed rest ahead of Saturday night’s first live show of season 21.

The head judge has told fans she’s been feeling "under the weather" after appearing to pick up a mystery illness on her recent trip to Rome.

Now back at home, Ballas is making sure she’s saving her energy in an attempt to be better for Saturday night’s show.

"To anyone else feeling under the weather, I’m sending you lots of love and cuddles."

Thankfully Ballas is confident she won’t be out of action for too long as she has her mum on hand to aid her recovery process.

"Feeling poo poo, but mum makes you two boiled eggs in your favourite little pot," she said. "What would I do without my mum? I feel blessed."
