Strictly Come Dancing star Fleur East has admitted she needs time to "get over" the birth of her baby daughter.

The singer and presenter confirmed earlier this month that she had welcomed her first baby, Nova, with husband Marcel Badiane-Robin, touching upon the "RIDE" of giving birth on her living room floor.

Although the star didn’t go into detail at the time, Fleur has now said that she will need "some time" to get past what happened, as she also spoke about the early days of motherhood.

"It's so weird to talk to other adults – I’ve been talking in a baby voice for so many weeks now," the star quipped on her Hits Radio show (via The Mirror).

"The first week was a complete blur, I was just a walking zombie, I didn’t know what was going on. I felt like I was a milk machine for seven days straight, but now I’m adjusting I feel a little bit more human. It’s going to take some time but I’m enjoying it a lot more now.

"I can't go into it [the birth] I need some time to get over it to be honest," Fleur continued. "It’s funny because there’s a spot in my living room that every time I walk past, I’m reminded of exactly where Nova was born and that makes it a little harder to get around.

"I think she has the Fleur East vocals – her pitch and tone are very clear," she further joked. "When she starts crying it’s like OK those lungs are working – she can project very well.

"Loads of people say to me you’re never going to remember life without her, and I try to but it’s very hazy, it feels like it’s in the distant past. And it is weird now, I can’t imagine going day to day without Nova in my life. It’s very strange but amazing."

Following Nova's arrival, Fleur shared a sweet picture of the newborn meeting her former dance partner Vito Coppola, writing on Instagram: "Nova's crazy uncle Vito came to visit and it's fair to say, they get on well."

Strictly Come Dancing will return later this year on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
