A student union diversity officer who gained notoriety for allegedly tweeting the hashtag ‘#killallwhitemen’ has been now been charged by the Metropolitan Police for sending threatening communication.
She was first accused of racism for asking white men to not attend a meeting for ethnic minority women and ‘non-binary’ people.
Bahar Mustafa, from Goldsmiths College in London is due to appear in Bromley magistrates court next month, reports the Guardian.
She faces two charges of sending a threatening message between 10 November 2014 and 31 May 2015, and another of sending a menacing or offensive message via a public network, for the same time period.
Ms Mustafa, 28, from North London, has continued to serve Goldsmiths Student Union as their welfare and diversity officer despite the adverse publicity.

She responded to critics calling her racist, reports the Independent, saying: ’Because racism and sexism describe structures of privilege based on race and gender and therefore women of colour and minority genders cannot be racist or sexist, since we do not stand to benefit from such a system.’
Ms Mustafa is neither a student at the college or a employee of Goldsmiths but directly employed by the independent student union.
A student petition calling for her removal only reached 167 signatures and failed to reach the 3% for a referendum to be triggered.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said in a statement: ‘A woman interviewed under caution regarding a complaint of racially motivated malicious communication made on a social media network has been summonsed to court.’
