Students resume classes at Dallas ISD high school after bomb threat, evacuation

Students and faculty are back inside a Dallas high school campus after Dallas Independent School District police investigated a possible threat Friday, according to Dallas ISD officials.

“Officers thoroughly performed a sweep of the campus and determined there is no credible threat. Everyone is safe,” Robyn Harris, of Dallas ISD communication services, told the Star-Telegram.

South Oak Cliff High School evacuated its students Friday after receiving the threat, according to Dallas ISD officials.

The students were taken to the football field and track area, according to a report from Star-Telegram partner WFAA-TV. District officials said all the students were safe and were being provided water until police cleared the scene.

This was the second bomb threat that the campus received on Friday, Dallas School Board Trustee Maxie Johnson told WFAA. Frightened parents were rushing to the school to check on their children, Johnson said.
