Succession actor Patch Darragh has landed his next TV role, in a new thriller from Amazon MGM Studios.

The star, who played Ray Kennedy in nine episodes of the huge HBO drama, and starred in the Law & Order franchise and Everything Sucks!, has joined the cast of Obsession.

Led by singer and Liv and Maddie actor Dove Cameron, and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City star Avan Jogia, the series will follow a couple named Ciara and Oliver who meet at a supermarket and fall for each other hard and fast.

56 days after their first meeting, a decomposed and unidentifiable body is found at Oliver's flat. The show will cut between the day of the investigation and the couple's intensive two months together, as the mystery unravels: who died, and who did it?

Darragh will play psychotherapist Dan Troxler, a man with a secret he is desperate to keep secret, reports Deadline.

The series will also star The Good Doctor's Kira Guloien as an enigmatic woman named Jane Miller, Julia's Celeste Oliva as a Detective Sergeant, Big Sky's Jesse James Keitel as a woman named Alison with a knack for seeing through lies, and Snowpiercer's Matt Murray as Kevin Sullivan, a property manager who also has plenty to hide, and the cracks are starting to show.

Darragh will also soon be seen in spy rom-com The Union. The film, which also stars Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg, saw its first trailer released this week ahead of the film's release in August.

Obsession does not currently have a release window. The Union will be released on Netflix on August 16.
