Suspect arrested in Alabama for 2020 Columbus murder at Water Works Park
Police say a suspect in a 2020 shooting death that occurred at Water Works Park in Columbus has been arrested in Alabama.
Columbus police say 33-year-old Justin Rondu Reeves was arrested Thursday by the Abbeville Police Department in Alabama after refusing to identify himself after being pulled over for speeding.
Reeves is the only suspect in the homicide of 46-year-old Kendrick Lamar Young that occurred in July 2020, according to Columbus police.
Columbus police say that Young called 911 on July 3, 2020 and said that Reeves was shooting at him.
A gun was found in Reeves’ possession during his arrest and will be obtained from Abbeville police and sent to the GBI for testing, according to the release.
A court date will be set when Reeves is extradited to Columbus, officials say.
