Suspect in Garden Restaurant shoot-out turns himself in to police
A man wanted in connection with a shooting at a downtown Toronto restaurant in November surrendered to police Tuesday.
The shooting left Tariq Mohammed, 31, of Mississauga, dead and sent two women to hospital.
Police say Havard McKenzie, 24, of Toronto, turned himself in to police at 31 Division at 1 a.m. and was charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm.
In a statement, police said McKenzie was also charged with:
- Robbery with a Firearm
- Robbery with a Firearm
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Weapons Dangerous
- Assault
- Assault
- Pointing a Firearm
On August 18, police charged Abdirisak Yusuf Ibrahim with first-degree murder and robbery after he and two other men shot three patrons at the popular Garden Restaurant on Dundas Street West near University Avenue.
In January, police arrested Marcus Gibson, 22, and Ceyon Carrington, 28. They were both charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm in relation to the shooting.
