Suspect at large, 1 other arrested after armed robbery at St. John's pub

The RNC have arrested one man following an armed robbery in St. John's early Monday morning, however a second man involved in the robbery remains at large.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a report of a robbery involving two men at Christine's Place pub on LeMarchant Road at 12:18 a.m. on Monday.

Police say a firearm was not used in the robbery, but the two men entered the pub with a weapon and a 44-year-old man was arrested following a short foot chase.

The man was charged with armed robbery, being disguised with intent to commit a criminal offence, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and breaching court orders. He was held for court.

The second man is still at large.

There were patrons in the pub at the time of the robbery, but no one was injured as a result of the incident.
