Sylvan Lake drug bust nets stolen trucks, guns, meth

A drug bust at a home in Sylvan Lake turned up several illegal firearms, drugs and stolen property.

Police found 10 firearms including shotguns, sawed-off shotguns, handguns and an Uzi-style assault rifle, all believed stolen and with serial numbers removed.

They also found brass knuckles, prohibited ammunition magazines, ammunition, stolen credit cards, ID and cash.

Four people were arrested in the bust last Wednesday.

Two trucks, one stolen from Lacombe, the other from Westlock, were recovered.

Police say they found crystal meth, methamphetamine and magic mushrooms at the home.

A 41-year-old man and 31-year-old woman from Sylvan Lake, a 35-year-old Blackfalds man, and a 26-year-old woman from Red Deer are each facing several weapons, stolen property and drug charges.

A day after the bust, RCMP were called to the same home where a man was reported outside the home with a gun.

Police arrested the 21-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman. Both were charged with several criminal offences.
