Taylor Swift Hinted at ‘Clara Bow’ Song Off New Album with Her Grammy's Necklaces: See the Side-by-Side Pics!

According to a Swift fan account on X, the two photos prove 'The Tortured Poets Department' style theory

Taylor Swift is a mastermind at working clues into her look ahead of a big reveal, but even the most dedicated Swifties didn't clock her latest hint.

At the Grammys on Feb. 4, the now 14-time winner, 34, wore a white Schiaparelli haute couture gown and opera gloves with a custom Lorraine Schwartz choker featuring an Art Deco watch by Concord, as well as layers of necklaces. Many (including us!) thought the high-drama moment was an Easter egg for the highly-anticipated drop for Reputation (Taylor’s Version).

The timepiece in particular had fans on watch as Swift had it specifically set to midnight just before heading into the award show, as seen in a video captured by PEOPLE. And Swifties also took that as a sign that all their theories about Swift's return to her 2017 era would be confirmed at 12 a.m. — until they weren’t.

The pop star threw everyone for a loop when, after accepting the Grammy for best pop record for Midnights, she announced a completely new album, The Tortured Poets Department, which will be released on April 19.

And according to a fan tweet on X (formerly Twitter), it looks like Swift actually teased her forthcoming project on the red carpet.

Among the The Tortured Poets Department‘s 16-song tracklist, which also features Post Malone and Florence + The Machine, there’s a song titled “Clara Bow” which is assumed to be inspired by the Old Hollywood starlet of the same name.

Swift ostensibly paid homage to the actress by wearing a pile of vintage-looking necklaces similar to the jewelry Bow wore decades ago. A fan tweeted about the speculated coincidence on X, posting photos of Swift and Bow next to each other. And we have to admit, the similarities are striking.

Fans have begun to theorize what the track could be about and they’ve drawn some parallels to Bow (a popular silent film siren of the 1920s who also made headlines for her personal life and romantic relationships) and Swift's respective careers and highly publicized lives in the spotlight.

It’s unclear how Swift will weave Bow’s story into the song given Bow’s complicated history with Hollywood. But, it's possible it could evoke a similar narrative to her Red song “The Lucky One” in which Swift sings about a starlet escaping the spotlight to pursue a private life.

In addition to the album announcement, Swift also made Grammys history, scoring the prize for best record of the year for the fourth time and becoming the first artist to do so.

Now, with two new awards to her name, the “August” songstress is performing on the next leg of her Eras Tour with four back-to-back shows, in Tokyo, Japan before likely returning back to the States to cheer boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Chiefs on at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, which also happens to be her 13th game (Swift’s lucky number).
