Taylor Swift, Katy Perry reunite at Eras Tour years after feud: 'Got to see an old friend'
The pop stars posed for a sweet photo in Australia, years after fans speculated that Perry's "Swish Swish" single took swipes at Swift.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry's friendship will stick around for more than a minute, so get used to it.
The pop stars — who notably feuded for years following the release of Swift's "Bad Blood," which Perry famously interpreted as being about her — reunited this week in Australia, where Swift performed a stop on her ongoing Eras Tour.
"Got to see an old friend shine tonight," Perry wrote Friday on Instagram, along with a photo of herself smiling next to Swift.
Perry also shared photos of herself enjoying the show with fellow pop star Rita Ora, who attended the Eras Tour's Australian performance with her Oscar-winning husband, Taika Waititi.
The sweet photo of Perry — who recently announced her exit from American Idol — and Swift came years after the duo ended their feud, which also included Perry's 2017 single "Swish Swish," which many interpreted as a response to the lyrics of "Bad Blood."
"Honestly, it's really like she started it and it's time for her to finish it," Perry previously told James Corden of the fight that reportedly stemmed over the use of backup dancers. "It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me, and I'm like, 'Okay, cool, cool, cool, that's how you want to deal with it? Karma!'"
The pair made headlines in 2019 after Perry made a surprise cameo in Swift's "You Need to Calm Down" music video, seemingly putting an end to their public squabble.
Also that year, Swift addressed their relationship in an interview with U.K. radio program Capital Breakfast.
“[Perry] sent me a really nice note and an olive branch — like, an actual olive branch — to my tour when it started, the Reputation Stadium Tour, a while ago,” Swift said at the time. “From that point on, we’ve been on good terms."
