Tecumseh LCBO among stores selling 12-packs of beer

Windsor Labour Day 2015: What's open, what's closed

Here's some news to get hopped up about: The LCBO is testing the sale of 12-packs of beer and the Tecumseh location is part of the pilot project.

Starting today, 10 Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) stores across Ontario will be part of year-long pilot project that will sell 12-packs. If the project is successful it could be expanded to about 50 stores down the road, said a LCBO spokesperson.

Before today, Windsor-Essex residents would have to go to The Beer Store to buy a 12-pack.

This initiative was part of larger plans by the province to modernize both the LCBO and The Beer Store that were announced back in April.

A mix of big-beer brands and smaller craft-beer brands will be part of the pilot program, including:

- Coors Light

- Molson Canadian

- Budweiser

- Labatt Blue

- Carling Lager

- Heineken

- Stella Artois

- Corona Extra

- Grolsch

- Steam Whistle

- Muskoka Survival Pack
