Teen hurt in car-to-car shooting in Yuba City. Sutter County deputies search for suspect
Sutter County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a car-to-car shooting in which a 17-year-old boy was injured Saturday in Yuba City, authorities said.
Around 8 p.m., deputies with the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1500 block of Countryside Drive, according to Undersheriff Scott Smallwood. Upon arrival, they found a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot would to the shoulder and chest area, Smallwood said.
The boy was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, according to law enforcement.
Officials said the suspect vehicle is described as a blue Toyota minivan; the alleged suspect was a passenger in the vehicle wearing a mask. The driver was reportedly a man, Smallwood said.
Deupties said there is an ongoing investigation into the incident and ask anyone with information on the incident to call detectives at 530-822-2245.
