The series is co-created by thriller author and former Navy SEAL Jack Carr, who penned the source material, and David DiGilio, who is the creator and showrunner of “The Terminal List.” Taylor Kitsch stars in the prequel series as special operator Ben Edwards, reprising his role from the original show.
Taking place five years before the original show, “Dark Wolf” is described as “an elevated espionage thriller that takes viewers on Edwards’s journey from Navy SEAL to CIA paramilitary operator, exploring the darker side of warfare and the human cost that comes with it.”
The cast also features Tom Hopper, in addition to Chris Pratt as James Reece and Jared Shaw as Ernest “Boozer” Vickers.
Executive producers of “Dark Wolf” include Kitsch, Pratt for Invisible Productions, Antoine Fuqua and Kat Samick for Hill District Media, Carr, DiGilio, pilot director Frederick E.O. Toye, writer and former Army Ranger Max Adams, and Shaw, who is also a former Navy SEAL and writer on the show.
Hemsworth is known for starring in “Westworld” on HBO for four seasons as the character Ashley Stubbs. Next up, he is starring alongside Russell Crowe, brother Liam Hemsworth and Milo Ventimiglia in the 2024 action/thriller film “Land of Bad,” which he also executive produced.
